The Night Joe Dolan’s Car Broke Down
by Padraic McIntyre
Directed by Michael Hiller
Imagine being stranded with a national legend – Joe Dolan – in a rural pub in Cavan on the night his car breaks down. That’s just the sort of fantasy scenario that’s imagined in this comedy, which comes to Canada for the first time in 2017.
A mixed group of locals from Glenaduff, Co. Cavan gather in the Glennaduff Inn on a stormy St. Stephen’s night to celebrate the 60th birthday of the The Horse Munley. As the play unfolds so too does personal secrets, the music and the craic. As the storm worsens and people head home, a knock to the door brings the night’s entertainment to a new level.
This hilarious show has been a sell out success in theatres all across Ireland with it being remounted for the second time in the Olympia Theatre in Dublin due to phenomenal demand. We are extremely proud to be the first theatre company to be mounting this show outside of Ireland.
Mixing comedy, drama and music it is a treat for all theatre and Joe Dolan fans alike!
