On July 15 2016 the fighting Irish take on the Canadians in what will be a world class armature competition. 2016 is the Centenary on the Irish uprising that ultimately led to peace in more recent years in the Island of Ireland. The president of Ireland has encouraged all Irish Worldwide to celebrate the centenary, and as one of the founding fathers of this Great country we call Canada it is only fitting that Ireland and Canada be part of the celebrations.
The team from Ireland has National Champions and Provincial Champions and are looking forward to enjoying their time in Canada, training at some of the boxing clubs around the city in advance of the tournament. The Irish Team Manager Mr. James Gorman from Donore on the east coast of Ireland stated that Toronto is his second home as the people are warm hearted and the hospitality is second to none, he went on to say that the team assembled is top class and they are all looking to the bouts with the Canadian Team.
Boxing Ontario will be rolling out the green carpet for this event and believes it will be an event not to be missed. The hall on Broadview Avenue will hold 300 seated boxing fans approx. so don’t leave it to the last minute to get your tickets because the event will be sold out and only ticket holders will be allowed in.
